What’s special about the 50th year?  The discussion of Jubilee in Leviticus 25 provides insight to the proper tending of creation and relation of man to the land.  Join in a discussion led by Yoshi Silverstein from Mitsui Collective in Cleveland, Marqus Cole from Georgia Interfaith Power and Light and Adam Bartholomew from the Department of Religious Studies at Gonzaga University, to explore some the verses describing Jubilee and their inference about the reign of God, announced in Luke 4:18-19, the year of the Lord.

In a broad sense, Jubilee puts the whole into proper balance.  What is the proper balance of man to the larger environment in Eastern Washington?  Where do the rights of humans stop and give way to the rights of animals, rivers, and trees?  As we celebrate EXPO’s 50th anniversary, lets look at what we’ve accomplished for environmental harmony and what needs to be taken on to make things right for the next 50 years.
